Tutorial - Desert

Trabalho para um display da MODENA e da Companhia das Miniaturas. Para disporem os seus UMMs em 1/43.

A Base de trabalho foi efectuada por eles, sendo em roofmate e com parte do relevo efectuado, as palmeiras dão da Companhia das Miniaturas.

Comission work for a display for MODENA and Companhia das Miniaturas. For them to display the UMM Jeeps in 1/43.

The base was done by them in roofmate and part of the shape already made, the palmtrees are from Companhia das Minituras.

O material para efetuar o terreno, pigmentos, relva, pedra tudo da GEM

Material to do the terrain, pigments, grass, stones all from GEM

Pigmento misturado com cola branca e agua para fazer uma pasta e aplicar ao terreno.

Pigments mixed with PVA glue and water in order to make a paste to apply on the base.

Mais pigmento é aplicado em cima da pasta.

More pigment is applyed on top os the mix.

Com pigmento mais escuro saliente-se os caminhos.

With more darker pigment we highlight the track.

Passo 6 / Step 6

Está quase acabado. Falta alguns elementos retoques de pintura etc...

Almost finished. Only missing a few more elements, a little bit more paint here and there....

As 3 primeiras fotos tiradas no exterior.

The 1st 3 pictures were taken outside.

Dip 2

A segunda figura na minha opinião ficou melhor que a anterior. Fotos tiradas no exterior com luz solar.

The 2nd figure, in my opinion, looks better than the other one. Pictures taken outside with direct sunlight.

Em cima o "antes" em baixo o "depois" já com verniz mate.

Above the "before" shot and below the "after" shot already with matt varnish.

28mm Part 3

A base a ser trabalhada com Das pronto.
The Base being worked with Das pronto.

Depois aplica-se uma mistura de Pigmento 002 Terra castanha com cola branca.

Then we apply a mixture of Pigment 002, Brown Earth, with PVA Glue.

Para o caminho misturou-se o mesmo pigmento com F010 areia do deserto, para dar uma cor mais clara.

The track was mixed with the same pigment and with F010 Desert Sand, to give a lighter tone.

A base foi colocada numa caixa para receber a mistura de flocagens.

The base was placed in a box to collect the mixture of the ground covers.

A Relva começou a ser aplicada.

The grass was placed on the base.

Passo 5 / Step 5

O Poço já tem o telhado.

The Well has already a roof.


Foi adicionado mais pigmento Pig -05 e areia do deserto F-10 ao caminho.

Additional Pigment Pig-05 and desert sand F-10 were added to the path.

Começa-se a tratar dos acessórios que iram dar vida ao modelo

We start to work on the accessories which will bring the model to life.

Foi adicionada mais relva e erva alta entre as árvores.

Additional grass was added in the trees' area.

Passo 4 / Step 4

Depois de pintada a base do poço, começa-se a trabalhar o resto dos detalhes.

After the base of the well is painted, we start working on the rest of the details.

Volta-se a fazer uma mistura de cola branca, pigmento, pedra e alguma relva.

We make another mixture of PVA Glue, pigment, stones and some ground cover.

Essa mistura vai ser aplicada em areas onde aind queremos colocar mais flocagem o relva.

That mixture will be applied to areas which require more ground cover or grass.

Another example :

Quando estivermos a colocar a flocagem e a relva o melhor é utilizarmos uma caixa, onde pomos o modelo. Assim podemos aplicar o que quisermos, não sujamos a mesa de trabalho e no fim ainda aproveitamos os restos que não ficam colados.

When we are working with the ground cover or grass, it is best to have the model in a box. We can thus apply what we want and won't make a mess on the working table and ultimately, we can re-use all the materials which were not glued.
