Verniz / Varnish

The 1st bases almost finished, with 2 layers of matt varnish to protect the base and the figures, in order to be able to handle them in the game. I didn't expect that in the terrain the varnish would darken the sand, giving it a different colour.

Here one can see the difference between a base without varnish and one with it. Maybe I have to work on the terrain after applying the varnish, in order to return to the original colour.
I would welcome any ideas, suggestions or comments about this subject.

They are far too realistic for 1/72 figures!
